Yes i have done a search but am still confused because I usually use windows. This is my first Mac. How do I get all my apps, contacts, movies, music, etc. from my nearly full iPhone 3G to my new empty MBP iTunes software (same account)? Do i need to transfer to a network drive and then import? Or can I force a "reverse sync" of some sort?

Thanks.

I think it's harder to go the reverse way for the iPhone. Do you not have access to the computer that you first sync'ed to?

You can copy the iTunes folder from your old computer to your new computer. I don't think there is any tools out there to transfer from iPhone to computer.

actually it should just sync right over when you first plug it in and hit sync....and if it doesnt, chaotic was right about copying the itunes folder from the windows machine to your mac.

You can sync everything from iPhone to your new laptop APART from media (music, videos, pictures NOT taken from the iPHone) as these are 'synced' to your other machine so it won't sync that. It'll sync from your MBP what you have on it. But contacts, notes, pictures take on the iphone.

I had the same issue with you. Win2k machine isn't load and I had my 2g iphone synced to it. Decided f0ck it and synced to my MacBook to upload to 3.0 software, lost all media apart from stuff thats on the iPhone.

I think there are some apps which can get your music back, but not sure if they'll have their correct titles as the iphone changes the names in the way it's stores it in it's db.
