New Firmware for iMac's with HD 4850 video cards

I just happened to experience my first freeze. Totally random about 5 minutes after a cold boot with itunes playing and the visualizer full screen.

After rebooting, I happened to click on the check for software update and lo and behold there it was.

(updating now)
 
Update went well about 45 secs or so. I got a weird high pitched beep on startup and then got a message saying the firmware was updated successfully.
