Seeing as I couldn't quite grasp pfSense over the last couple of weeks I chose to simply buy a new firewall/router for the office. The Tomato router is doing a great job, and is allowing us to use our faster new service.

I have a Juniper SSG5 on order but in the mean time I was able to source a like new Netgear FVS336G, which is essentially a much better version of what we were using before.

Anyway, I configured the unit to work just like the last but I am having a problem on the LAN side. Internet connection is fine, but for some reason our local network doesn't like being behind it.

The first thing I noticed was that upon powering everything back up with the new firewall, I got an IP conflict message, which didn't make any sense to me. That didn't happen when I installed the Tomato router.

With everything connected like it should be I can ping every device on the network, including the 336G and main server, but none of the devices behind the firewall can connect to the internet. However, when I connect a single laptop to the firewall directly I can access the web.

Is there something I am missing here? One of the LED on the port with the network switches is orange, indicating that something is up, but I couldn't figure out what.
