I wish they'd go back to the ATB battle system of 7-10. I quit 12 after a few hours because I hated the battle system. This one doesn't look much better.

That is correct. There will be a demo along with the FF VII Advent Children movie coming out on Blu-Ray. I think it is supposed to be Japan only.

I don't like the real time battle system as well, I prefer turned base system used in 7-10.

It looks like this may be going back to the ATB system to some extent. Ars Technica has an interesting speculative write-up about it.
