I just purchased an FIC VC19 motherboard. I checked my readings in BIOS. Please let me know if these are acceptable. I am having a problem with my system crashing especially when encoding video! My system is a Celeron 2.0, 512 DDR PC2100, 60 gig HD, 16 Meg PCI Voodoo 3 video. I just upgraded from Windows ME to Windows XP Pro with the same problems.

The system seems more stable when I take the case cover off?

My power supply is a Channel Well Technology 350 Watt. I have a surge protector attached!

See below my current readings from Bios:

Sys Temp 30 degrees
CPU temp 26 degrees
CPU fan speed 2,311
sys fan speed 2,500
cpu vore 1.48v
+1.5v 1.5v
3.3v 3.31v
+5v 4.94v
+12v 11.97v
-12v 11.70v
-5v -5.40v
vbat(v) 3.21
svsb(v) 5.01v

You may have marginal RAM or a poor-quality power supply sabotaging you. Yoda says power is nothing without control... and wattage is nothing without regulation on power supplies. Antec, Enermax, Sparkle Power, Heroichi are some trusted brands.

Start here: thread Try running Memtest86 (section 5 there) and see how your RAM/northbridge/CPU handle it. You want zero errors. If that works, try Prime95 Torture Test and 3DMark2001 (section 4). If that works, then maybe it's a software issue.
