I just built a new system:
FIC SD-11 mobo
1GHz Athlon Proc (slot not thunderbird)
2 sticks of 128MB RAM (256 total)
IBM Deskstar 75 GXP 40GB hard drive
Creative encor 12x dvd drive with dxr3 decoder card
creative sound blaster live value sound card
plextor cd-rw 12/10/32X
cambridge soundworks FPS2000 4-point speakers
PCI network card
usb keyboard, mouse, printer, scanner, & netcam
generic floppy

I had some trouble installing the hard drive but I got that resolved, then some lock-ups due to IRQ conflict between video card and networkcard but got that resolved, but ever since putting it together it just runs slow...slower than my old 700MHz athlon on the same mobo...

Did you get rid of the IRQ conflict by moving the network card? I know that board shares one of the PCI slots with the AGP slot.

I noticed you have a usb keyboard, otherwise I would have suggested you turn USB on before installing 4-in-ones, even if you didn't have any USB devices. That's what fixed an SD11 system I built for a friend.

I got rid of the IRQ problem by removing my printer port (I have usb printer)...on reboot it shifted all the IRQs around on its own...

What exactly do you mean by 4-in-one?

I wouldn't expect a very big preformance boost from the 1 ghz anyway because in the athlon classics everything after the 700 mhz and an increasing slower cache frequency. Thus the preformance from the mhz advantage is handicapped by the slow ass cache.

It shouldn't be slower then the 700 mhz tho.
