So my old fan(like a little 10" thing) just didnt seem to do anything anymore. It still spun, and made noise, but it didnt really move air anymore.

Seeing as it shot up over 90 the past few days, I finally went out and replaced it.

Hoooly is there a difference. new fan was onl $12, its the wire/metal type that isnt as "pretty" but is labeled "high volocity"....WOW. This mothervcker MOVES air.

Sorry. Just excited to not be choking on my own sweat tonight.

I got a vornado that came with a lifetime warranty. Bought it like 5 years ago for $60 on ebay. This thing's awesome.

I know quite a few people who do not fall asleep easily without a fan on ... dated one of 'em, was quite odd as I never had a fan growing up.

I used to have a problem where I couldn't go to sleep with out a fan. But because I would continue using the fan even in the winter, I got a cold so I had to stop using it. Trying to go to sleep with out the fan at night for the first few nights was fairly difficult but I obviously got over it (I think this was a little over 10 yrs ago)

ceiling fan

$10 says your fan doesn't last. Those small high velocity fans move too fast and their parts break down quickly. The better buys are the larger fans with a lower rotational speed.

I'm all about the commercial 14" and 18" high velocity metal fans. They cost a lot ($50-$60) but they back them with 25 year warranties. The 18" fan is pretty loud even on the low speed but it moves a lot of air (good for when you need to air the house out after spilling a can of supposedly odorless mineral spirits in the kitchen ). The 14" one is a lot quieter. I'll never use a box fan again.

haha I don't really know how to install a ceiling fan....

I actually went to get a bigger fan, but since we're in a sudden heat wave(it went from 70 to 90+ suddenly on sunday and hasnt gone down since), and i waited a few days because i was busy with finals, so they were cleaned out.
