I saw Alias last night. Nice action shots, but who is writing the script? Lovesick 16 year olds?

Enterprise is catching some 'tude. Archer, a man with a [real] mission.

ER. Saw the Luka is alive show. Here is a hint to others. They won't spend money on a brand new intro to the show, just to remove a character in the second episode.

More to follow.

Oh god it's better than the summer... I was so bored without 24 and Alias... Karen Sisco looks good too... and the final season of Friends is upon us (going downhill anyway).

Yep the lack of new shows on TV this summer killed me.

It also helps that we recently purchased a DirecTivo receiver for $50, that's going to rock!

The WB actually has some interesting programs. Smallville season opener was pretty cool. New Angel was good.
The Andersons is pretty good. Been watching a lot of WB since its the only channel I get, but I no longer complain.

Las Vegas (NBC) seems good. And I've liked 10-8 (ABC) so far.

I haven't see anything NEW that's any good. All the shows I watch are older ones (Alias, 24, Law & Order, CSI, ect). None of the latest wave they're pitching our way has any appeal at all :disgust:

Wednesday night seems to be the powerhouse for the networks. I wonder who will win -

Smallville, Angel, Enterprise, what else...

Tarzan was gayer than hell! Even my wife thought so!\

Scrubs was good.

Both the CSI's are good.

Enterprise is still kicking ass. Props to the writers for taking a page from the TOS script book and using the sexy alien female angle. :D

Caught part of Karen Sisco and it wasn't bad. The end was good. She didn't cave and get all sappy and let her BF sail off. She shot the motherfvcker. :D

I agree about none of the BRAND NEW stuff really standing out (although I've heard good things about Las Vegas repeatedly.) But in the last 4 years or so we've seen a whole new generation of solid shows so that's keeping me happy. Sitcoms REALLY seem to be going downhill for the most part though. Scrubs is the only comedy on the main networks launched in the last few years that I even bother watching now. NBC better be careful or they're going to lose their 'Must See TV' Thursday night domination that they've had for 2 decades now. I love Scrubs, but it and Will and Grace don't have the same mass draw that Friends can bring for the lead-in and ER is a hollow shell of its former self. My favorites of the shows from recent years:

-CSI
-CSI Miami (like em both)
-Scrubs (my favorite)
-Dead Zone (great overlooked show IMO)
-Law & Order SVU

I personally like the characters on SVU. They're entertaining to watch as they go through each weeks' story. I still like the original L&O a lot too. It's just been on for so long now and I was only mentioning shows launched in the last few years. That show is still very enjoyable and has aged extremely well IMO. They still keep the focus on each week's STORY and don't make the focus on the characters like ER does/did (which has not aged near as well IMO.)

The lead guy on the CI series gets on my last nerves. He's like a twitchy, melodramatic John Malkovich(sp?) wannabe. I realize a lot of people like the show. He just makes it unwatchable for me personally.

The only one I've seen is 10-8, and I thought both of them were so-so. Not much to them, and I started to nod off both times.

I have to agree, he makes a very annoying lead character. The fact that he's constantly and infallibly right also gets on my nerves to no end. Just once I want to see him smacked down hard by some suspect. I mean the original series and even SVU do that at least twice a season to their characters.

The format is another thing that I strongly dislike about it. The whole appeal to a cop show, IMO, is seeing them track down the bad guy and finding out who it was. With CI, we know who it was and usually why they're doing it. No mystery, no fun, IMO.

Here's my scorecard so far of all the new shows I've seen (I watch too much tv - this doesn't include any of the returning shows).

Top Tier shows (I really like and will watch every week):
Cold Case
Joan of Arcadia
The Handler
Las Vegas
Carnivale (on HBO)

Good shows I'll watch, but they still could improve:
Threat Matrix
Jake 2.0
Brotherhood of Poland NH
Coupling
Karen Sisco

Shows I'm Iffy about:
I'm With Her
All About the Andersons
Run of the House (if it wasn't for the girl from Even Stevens, I probably wouldn't have watched this, but its kinda good)

Shows I did not like and won't watch again:
Navy NCIS
10-8
The Mullets
Lyon's Den

Shows I have yet to watch:
Tarzan (recorded it last night)
Stan Hooper (whens this starting?)

Any not listed I basically had no interest in at all and didn't even give them a chance.

I agree but there was a good episode a few weeks ago with that cute Australian woman. How they mind fscked each other was interesting. Otherwise he is very annoying.

L&O SVU has Munch and Ice-T, what more could you ask for?

Yeah, that was the season ender I believe. At least if it involved the two of them mind fscking each other over a table of anthrax samples. That was without a doubt the sweetest episode of that series so far for me. I was SOO wanting her to win!! Just to lick her finger and eat some of the stuff on the table to call his bluff. Oh, that would have been such an ending to that ep.

Perhaps this season will throw some curves agains them. It is the third one, so they should have all the kinks worked out by now. (5th for SVU, 14th (damn!) for the original)

Yeah that was a very good episode. I think he should sleep with his partner, that would liven things up :)
