Just got this puppy, and it is excellent. Solved a big problem for me (no LINE-IN port on my laptop.)

It is small, has a remote control, and handles all speaker levels from stereo to 7.1 Here are 3 views:

THe small size makes it ideal as a laptop accessory. $87 w/free shipping from Z-Z-F.

I have the earlier version. The only problem I had was lack of Linux support.

My sound good with PC speakers. How does yours compare?

I can compare the sound to the on-board laptop system - both connected to a Bose Wave radio - the Audigy is much cleaner and brighter.

As for Linux - there are so many variants of that . . . I would try it with Knoppix.

Yeah, it looks pretty nice. I have the PCMCIA Audigy 2 ZS and it is quite good as well...costs more, though. I don't think any of these cards work w/linux as of yet.

Hey, great link, thanks! 🙂 Doesn't help me yet, but it would have been nice to know about a few months ago. Mine still says 'awaiting delivery of card'. 🙁 It has been out for months...

I have the low end Sound Blaster mp3+ USB. I use it mostly for mp3s, light gaming, and other misc sounds. I like it over the Audigy NX since it doesn't require additional power to it. I wonder if the USB Live needs external power to work.
