i have installed 3 gb of ram ( 2 & 1 ), the problem is when i go on the properties of my computer it is stated as 3.00GB (1.00 GB usable). i opened the task manager the paging memory available shown is 1024 mb. i have checked it using cpuz software both the being detected by the soft......... the computer has become really slow and working on 1.00gb only. please help me. i have also tried removing 1.00 gb ram. it work fine on 2.00gb ram and vice versa......................
 
What OS and version? If it worked fine on 2 GB, revert to that. Looks like the added 1 GB is the problem. BTW, this is not appropriate for a poll. Edit that out.
 
The 2GB and 1GB sticks of memory would not be matching sticks, this can cause problems with dual channel setups ... what motherboard is this ? what speeds are you running the memory at ? What bios settings for memory ? etc.
