New Equipment, some questions

Hi Guys,

Ive spent many a few hours researching into various elements in overclocking and have finally taken the plunge and ordered the following kit.

Gigabyte 3DAurora GZ-FSCA1-ANS(ANB) Black Aluminum Tower Case - Hi End
600w Seasonic S12-600 SLi Ready Silent PSU
256MB MSI PCI-E GF7800GTX DV ViVo
Abit KN8 Ultra PCI-E S939 NF4 DDR400
AMD Athlon 64 X2 Dual-Core 3800 + S939 512K
Asetek 03-L-1217 WaterChill CPU/VGA/Chipset Xtreme kit KT12A-12V Dual
250Gb Western Digital WD2500KS Caviar SE16 (7200rpm,16Mb) - SATA II NCQ Lead Free
2GB (2 x 1GB) PC3200 Dual Channel Platinum Series EL-DDR CAS2

What sort of ball park overclocks can I be expecting from the combination of the above quality ram, easily overclockable processor, decent motherboard , and water cooling kit.

Seeing as the case has 2 x 120mm fan outlets at the back i take it there wont be any mods required to fit the radiator and requistive fans here?

What about the custom cooling of the abit board, is it worth leaving this on and not using the nb water cooling solution so the gfx card and processor will get extra cooling or is the radiator more than sufficient for my needs?

Thanks in advance.

As you are interested mate here are my findings..

Got it to (2.55 x10) 2.55ghz, but i havent increased the voltage on the processors yet as i wanted it to settle in, but will be doing that tonight so may get another performance bumph.

Had an issue with the ram as it wouldnt run at anything more than 220mhz, so i have it running at 212mhz in 333 ddr divider.

I ended up putting the radiator outside the case as it wouldnt fit inside on the two fan outlets, as it was slightly longer and was covering over the pci card slots, also the case was designed for water cooling so had two grommeted outlets specifically for tubing.

The gfx card is running at a nice and low 30 degrees and doesnt seem to increase much under load although i havent done any specific measurements and managed to overclock it by 15% or so using coolbits hack.

I got a 3dmark05 score of nearly 9000

So all in all very much worthwhile 🙂
