New Epox kta3 mobo and crashing ME

I just installed the epox kta3 and my system has become very unstable,when launching a game. On boot up sometimes the driver asivmcvc.vsd hangs up my computer. I made some changes in the registry to get the drive controllers working but the computer continues to crash on games and start up. I wash thinking of deleting the Enum key in HKEY_Local_Machine to force a re build. This is drastic but alot easier than just doing a clean install. Before I do this, does anyone have any other suggestions. As a mac person this whole registry thing makes me nervous.

Not sure on this one. Although I stay away from ME so maybe that's why. No problems for me in 98SE.
