New Entertainment PC

Well I'm looking at a new build around some spare parts I have laying around. I'm looking at using a NEC DVD burner, an Intel P4 2.6 GHZ processor, a 120GB WD HD, and going from there. I don't plan on doing any gaming, just music, movies, and PVR. I think my old processor should do the job, but feel free to recommend whatever. Here is what I'm looking at.

-Corsair Value Select (Dual Pack) 184 Pin 512MBx2 DDR PC-3200
-Cooler Master Centurion 5 Black/Silver Mid-Tower Case with Acrylic Side Window
-SAMSUNG 120GB 7200RPM SATA Hard Drive

-ASUS "P4S800" SiS648FX Chipset Motherboard for Intel Socket 478 CPU
or
-ASUS "P4P800 SE" i865PE Chipset Motherboard for Intel Socket 478 CPU

-Hauppauge PCI TV Tuner Card, Model "WinTV PVR 250
- ENERMAX Noisetaker Series 370W Power Supply

That is it, let me know if you have any suggestions.

Your old CPU is *more* than enough for that purpose. I would personally pick the P4P800 due to the better chipset, I would also suggest the Antec Overture II as it looks great in a home environement and blends in perfectly.

That case is at the bottom end of the spectrum for a HTPC. Consider buying a case from Ahanix or Silverstone instead.

The PVR150 is a better buy than the 250 - it is a newer model and has better driver support. If you're using MCE2005 as the OS, get the
PVR150 MCE.
