Interesting rumour bit I noticed at XBit Labs. They claim the recently resurrected Elsa will produce graphics cards based around the R9500/9700PRO chips.
They link to two other sites that make similar claims.
Naturally I'd still firmly position it in the rumour column but it's something interesting to think on.

Elsa retains a lot of brand name recognition, so this could potentially be a nice coup for ATi.
This assumes the "new" Elsa still has the marketing and production facilities to push out graphics cards in significant number onto mainstream shelves.

It's perhaps unfortunate for the new Elsa that the vast majority of their more talented developers have already left for positions working on nVidia's Quadro series drivers.

I'm glad Elsa is back, hope they do well. I really like the Erazor II I had back in the day.

I felt bad when I heard they were going under. I always wanted an Elsa gfx card, with their 6 year warranties. Only thing we ever got was a Microlink modem though :(

i'd love to see a fire gl card made by that team:D:p

I'd love to see a new FireGL board with drivers supported entirely by the original team from S3/SonicBlue, and IBM hardware.
