New Egg Refurbs in Hot Deals....

Honestly, Do people hang out and wait for something to come in at refurb location of newegg to post it? Alot of times it may be only a couple items so does it really count as a hot deal when only like you and you mom can get in on it? 9 times out of 10 they have to call the deal dead in less than an hour because everything is sold out. I think it should be locked/banned just like auctions where only 1 or 2 people actually benefit from it. People who frequent Hot Deals already have full knowledge of newegg and know about its refurb area. Unless its a new item, there really isnt any need to tell us about stuff there.

I disagree. I am sitting in here reading very often, and I'm not very often sitting on newegg.com hittin refresh.

I've gotten in a many hot deals of low quantity items because I was alerted to their presence by a Hot Deals post.

If you're not interested in them, don't read them. Why is that not an acceptable solution to you?

I have no problem if there is alot of items or its a hot item that noone knows about or something like that. But it seems that there are days where somebody posts everything in Newegg refurb area in individual threads. Yeah, of course I overlook it, but it just seems a bit rediculous to see it over, and over again. Its nothing special, move on.

I sort of feel the same way. THis used to happen with the Staples/Best Buy/CompUSA ads - people would post a new thread for each individual item - now they seem to have consolidated it into a weekly Staples/BB/CUSA thread, with the occasional "flaming hot deal" single thread. If people could consolidate it into one thread that would probably be better.

I agree that people shouldn't be posting repeat deals if somebody had already made a "newegg refurb video cards updated" kinda thing, but thats really the individuals posting that cause that problem, not the newegg refurbs in general.

That being said, I just can't imagine that it is so hard for anybody just to skip past it. I mean come on, you're THAT inconvenienced by a couple of extra lines of text that you are not interested in that would like to see it removed entirely despite the fact that others find it usefull? Besides the fact that that is more incredibly lazy than I can even find words to describe ("ouch...my eyes had to pitch down another 1/4 of a centimeter without me gaining any information I am looking for!!!!"), it is also pretty selfish.

Nice to see that you are not "too lazy" to spend time thread crapping and flaming

I am not saying its a major problem. I honestly just see it as redundant. I would fully support a change of policy to something like one large thread that lists all the updates or something. Its been going on for months and I have been skipping passed them the whole time, so it doesn't hurt my eyes or cause any un-needed strain on my selfish fingers to arrow down passed it. Shrug, its not a major deal, I was just curious what the Mod's stance was on it.

>I am not saying its a major problem

If its not a major problem then why are you making noise about it?

And why are you asking for the extreme response of banning?

Please.

I don't know about that. I was recently browsing through HD Forum when I saw a post about a great deal of Refurb CPU's at Newegg. Unfortuantely I was late but if I had checked a couple of hours earlier I would have been able to get a great deal. The definition of what's a Hot Deal and what isn't is really subjective and can't be defined by a few of you.

mixed feelings, it takes up forum resources, but on the other hand, it is a good deal, maybe if we could just get them to post a single thread stating newegg has more refurbs up or something. those cpu prices were amazing the other day

<< those cpu prices were amazing the other day >>

Tell me about it. How can that not be called a Hot Deal?

How come people at HD make such a huge deal out of Double posts and deals that they might not feel to be such a Hot Deal? It seems some people are extremely Anal about it.. You'd think they were those old Biddies from My Coupons.

I think its good that they post refurb CPU in HD because I don't have time to always check with NewEgg if they have it in stock or not.
Just overlook it and move on!

I'm not crapping unless you consider posting an opinion different than yours to be crapping.

I also was not making any attempt to flame you with that eye strain comment, I was merely pointing out the absurdity in general of saying that the existance of a thread that you don't find usefull is somehow an inconvenience for you.

It takes infinite times more effort for a mod to delete or lock a thread than it does for you to do nothing and skip it.

posting each hot item from newegg refurbs is obviously excessive, but i think maybe one consolidated thread bumping "newegg refurbs in NOW" would be acceptable. i kinda wish they wouldnt do that... gives me more chance to actually BUY something, instead of putting it in my cart and then checking out, and then at the last step it says 0 quantity, what the heezy!??!

i have gotten a lot of good stuffs from newegg refurbs, ibm 60gxp, geforce2 pro, kr7a-raid, alpha 8045.. GO AWAY!! MINE MINE MINE 😀 😀

<< and then at the last step it says 0 quantity, what the heezy!??! >>

Sounds like you were a Victim of the Annoying Ferengo Virus

I got my video card and an intellimouse optical because of newegg refurb posts. I certainly don't mind them.

I thought they were annoying....until I got my DVD-ROM, CD-RW, and Barracuda IV for dirt cheap, that is. 😀

Seriously, a single consolidated Newegg refurb thread is a good idea.
