...and 70F load. This can't be right. My E6600 was like 90F idle and 100F load. Also, CoreTemp shows Tjunction at 185F, what's that? All I did was swap the processors, do I need a fresh Windows install? Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks,

What are you using to check your temps?

Download the latest version of either CoreTemp or Speedfan and see what it says.

No, but it's about 65F in my house at night?

CoreTemp, SpeedFan, Everest, MotherBoard Monitor, and PCWizard 2007 all report similiar temps.

What are typical temps on this proc? I figure since the power draw and watts of the E6600 and E6850 are similiar, the temps should be too?

add 15C and it should be correct? so that'd be like 77F idle, 97F load.
