New DVI-D monitor bootup problem

I had a 19" monitor using dvi-d connection. When the pc was turned on, you seen the black/white boot screen (where you can het DEL to go to setup.

I just went to a 20" dvi-d monitor and not I get no video until the xp blue/white booting screen comes up. The monitor is blank during the bios boot screen. Is there a way to fix this? Is because of the higher screen res or dvi connection? I have has this on one 22" and now the 20", both using dvi only. Kinda weird.

What monitor model? Some have been known to have some issues with the DVI input (or it may be a graphics card issue). I believe it's because the monitor can only scale specific resolutions.
