And precisely why on principle alone I refuse to further fill the maker's coffers with a purchase.Talk about a double-dip though. This is the third DVD version of T2.

The 1080P is a windows media player 9 file, so you will only be able to see it on your TV if you hook up a windows computer to your TV. The windows media player file is on the second disk.
I'm actually a little excited about this since I watch 95% of my movies using a HTPC and a projector.
Yeah, I agree
BTW The WMP9 HDDVD isnt that bad if you wanna check out some samples:

Word of caution you need a pretty decent machine to watch it but still is pretty damn good and alot better than the best dvd transfer of today.
Does "pretty decent machine" = 3 ghz or better?

athlon 2380 MHz
1 GB DDR
7200 RPM HDD
64 MB GF3 Ti200
16x Toshiba DVD-ROM
where's the weak link? the athlon performs roughly as well as a 3.2 GHz P4, memory and hdd shouldnt be a problem. is it my video card? the product recommends a 128 MB vid card. could this be the culprit? 1900x1200x32bppx24fps = 209 MB/sec mem bandwidth, which my computer should have no problem doing. anyone?
