New DVD-RW is loud

I recently installed the BenQ DW1640 into my computer and it makes a loud noise when ever I run something on it (it's the motor i believe). And sometimes I just won't stop when it's supposedly done loading something. Is this supposed to be right? From the newegg.com reviews, it seems quiet and high quality? Is it because of the way it's mated to my computer (Sonata II), driver problems, or just the way it is?
 
My Pioneer DVR-109 is the same thing 🙁, I have a case door though so I can only hear it when I open the door, if I didn't I would be so annoyed by now.
