Hello,

Thinking about setting up a Duron box with Win2K/pro. How's your system? Any problems? How about your sys specs? I'd like to know who's using what.

Thanks in advance,

Go for it! My Duron is up and running at 990 Mhz (1Gig is only about 95% stable) and for an inexpensive CPU a bargain! Performance is BETTER than an Athlon Classic at the same speed in all tests. (Remember @800 the Classic's cache went to 2/5 and then @900 down again to 1/3, so the Duron is quicker). This is possible the most stable machine I've owned in years. I already have a spare CPU coming to upgrade to Dual Processor SMP when the boards ship later this year.

Unlocked Duron 600 on Abit KT7 (non RAID version). Currently running the Duron at 800, 1.75 volts, full load on cpu, temp is 49C.

This thing is every bit as stable (if not more so) than the BX mobo and Celly II it replaced.
