New drivers = higher heat?

I just finished upgrading my motherboard, reinstalling the OS and all that jazz... and noticed that the nvidia drivers on the page were newer than what I had in my old system by one revision. After installing, and running them though, my BFG 6800OC seems to be running at least 10*C hotter than it was with the old drivers/old system. I'm trying to figure out if I maybe bumped the heatsynch in install and need to take it off and reapply thermal compound... or if its just the new drivers generating more heat. I previously sat around 49*C... I am now sitting around 59*C and this seems a little ecessive. I don't have it overclocked(though it comes clocked higher than stock), but I have all the pipelines unlocked. Anyone have input before I e-mail BFG?

71.84 added 280 points to my 3DMark05 score with 66.93, from 4742 to 5022 without any other changes, but it also added 10C to my GPU core temp from 65 to 75. Also, my Doom3 timedemo went from 51 to 52.2 on 1280x1024, high setings, and with vsync on. So, I would say thet it is faster but it is hot. Any idea about my temps? Are the temps really higher or is it just a false temp reading?
