I'd been eyeing this driver for a little while now. (Taylor Made r7 460 Draw) Basically it's a driver weighted to create a slight draw and correct (or at least tame) most slices. Yesterday I found visa gift card I'd forgotten about and as providence would have it, Sports Authority had the driver on sale!
So I bought it. Impulse buy... bad I know, but it was found money so I figured what the heck.
Background: I tee off with my 3 wood because I've never found a driver that I could hit consistantly without a wicked slice. Even when I hit it well there is always a more-than-slight fade. I'm usually pretty straight on all my other clubs but never with the big dog.
Anyway, I took it to the DR tonight to try it out... Holy cow! I hit 100 balls with it. Some of my swings felt like they were going to slice hard but insead they just gently faded to the right (as opposed to banana-ing off at 45 degrees like normal). In short, my nasty slice swing left playable balls. Most of my shots were nice and straight... right down the middle. Plus it hits about 30 yards farther than my 3.
