New driver up idle temp by 15C?

I have an eVGA 6800gt and I just tried the new DNA 7180 drivers since they seemed optimized for CS:S which is what I have been mainly playing. After installing the drivers, my idle temp has gone to 68 degrees Celcius, while before they were around 52-54C. I haven't tried any games yet since I can't see the temp for a while after anyways. This seems high to me, is there a reason for this big of an increase?

it could be a driver issue that makes it report the wrong temps.
