I wonder if waffleironhead can change the subtitle of this thread to say 4.44d instead of c now?
--[Does a single client now load multi core rigs to 100%? & does it match performance of 1client/core?]--
Multiple installs will always give the maximum possible performance (because they are N independent 100% single-threaded instances). However, on this quad here I've gone from maybe 80-85% up to 95% CPU load from a single install on "auto" threads. So the gap between single and multiple installs is smaller than it was.
I suspect that your evolution will go faster if you use a single install that can reread its own results as it produces them at 4x the speed too.
--[So guys is it safe to update my crunchers with the new client? This will take a lot of work , so I don't wanna redo it in a week..]--
I'd advise installing the newest client on 1 or 2 machines first, letting it run for a week or two, and if you have no problems scale up the installation. The same applies to any new version of software really.
At some stage around the end of January I will retire the remaining 4.43-compatible lattice (PhaseRotEb1), provided the 4.44d proves stable enough for everyone.
