I wanna know why you'd use Windows Media Player for copying audio off a CD to begin with, or iTunes for that matter. Both suck, IMO.

b/c its easy to do, and i dont really care that much to download anything else.

yes i use wmp as my mp3 player, whats wrong w/ that. not geeky enough, suck it.

I got my copy in yesterday (not the dual disc version). I disabled the copy protection following the link fcoshkee provided above. Ripped using Exact Audio Copy just fine. No problems.

bittorrent. game over. you own the disc, now d/load the mp3 and exercise your rights.

IIRC, you still can't legally download the song...you're only supposed to be able to rip it from the one you bought and keep a backup.

Where's a lawyer when you need one.

As much as I respect and understand you, screw the law. If I buy a POS CD that won't even rip b/c of the stupid copy protection I'll be dammed if I'm not gonna d/load the tracks to load on my iPod. The secret service could never tell whether I ripped 'em or d/loaded em, b/c I had the original copy anyway.

Indeed, I've never heard of a CD that EAC couldn't rip.

Granted, it may TAKE 12 hours in the case of a particularly problematic CD....but EAC can always rip it.

There was a huge thread in software last year by MichaelD when the Velvet Revolver CD was released. EAC couldn't do it until the work-around was found.

they really bungled it. i'm sure the dual disc costs more. they should have just packaged two separate discs together.
