New DirectX version out

DirectX version 8.1b is now out. No word yet on what changes this release brings. You can download it from Microsoft

Do you have any idea why it is 24MB compared to 11MB for 8.1? This is what I'm supposed to install right? I just want to make sure.

I have no clue as to why it's so much bigger, could just be a language pack or something. I have not installed it yet, but anyone who dose, let us know how it goes!

I kind of know why now. It works on both Win 2000 and 98 (I needed two 11MB installables to pull that off) and it contains some stuff for developers. Check my post in the "DirectX 8.1b" thread for a few more details.
