Hi, soon I'll be gettin a new desktop, but theres a few things i dont know. like what company is good to buy from because ive looked at acer's,dells,hp's,and gateway's.. which of those are most reliable? also what is the intel or amd stuff all about if somone could tell me whats the latest or best that be sweet... or should i just build a new one? I can spend a max of $700

:thumbsup: But off the bat, for system thats $700 from Dell, HP, Acer, maybe web surfing, email, some MS word/excel/powerpoint. Light gaming, not Doom 3 kind, maybe starcraft/diablo 2 stuff.
 
If I were to BUY a PC for reliability and NOT for gaming, I would go HP/Compaq business models. I have found there business models to be very reliable for over 10yrs.
