WHats up guy i have been out of computers for a while its was like 4 years ago i got a p133 overclocked to 166 with a monster3d i was the man playing quake1 and other games but ever since then you can imagine i have not upgraded.... but that has all changed...
i just got a new dell system:
PIII 800
810e intel chipset
128 sd 133 ram
20.4 66ata HD
8x4x32
sound blacter value
integraded intel 3d
all this with shipping and 15% tax came to 1400 canadian to like 1000 us...
as you can see i need a 3d card to complete the system...

the thing is since i am old school i still believe that 3dfx makes the best 3d cards... the four years between i missed out on all the other 3d card so i dont know much about them.. another things is taht the 810e ship set has no agp port so i have to get the pci card... and from what i see in the reviewes the v5500 pci os perfect adn is just as fast as the agp one..

2 questions...
1. is the price i paid for the system good?????
2. should i go for the v5500 pci, and how much should i expext to pay canadian for it??

thanks in advance......
this is a great board, kinda is like the honda-acura board....

It's a decent price, but you could have built one better if you had done it yourself.

But yeah, the V5 is the best card you can get for your system. Any other PCI card and the card would be the bottleneck.

And your right, 3dfx is still a good brand... read some of the threads here, you'll see there are plenty of happy users, especially with the up and coming HSR.
