New Dell P1230 Monitor Problem

I just got a brand new Dell P1230 monitor on ebay and I love it but I'm having problems already, I turned on the monitor this morning and I noticed a series of 2" vertical gray lines about 1" up from the bottom of the screen and 2.5" in from the right side. Whats going on?

weird. try a differant videocard or computer and a dfferant cable. do they stretch the whole length of the monitor? try resetting the OSD. it may be a defective monitor if it was made recently, as the newly manufactured ones are sometimes low quality compared to previous years.

it doesnt sound like you're talking about the 2 horizontal aperture grille stabilization wires.

So the problem appears to be gone but I'm not sure what I did. I reset it to factory settings, didn't help, I switched it to another computer with no luck then I plugged it back into the one it was in originally and it worked fine the lines are gone.
