Decisions, decisions...

:disgust: No IEEE1394 or USB2 on the 4150. I wonder what the new evolution of the Compaq 2800T will be...?

i'm not sure that the 7500 is on the 4150. it doesn't seem like it to me.

i'd really like to know how makes the smartstep ones. they're fugly. and they use desktop processors. which is fine for FPS but awful for battery life. heh, i think i'll grill a dell rep about the processor thursday, see what they say. might be fun 😀

According to the messages on DellTalk, there is a 16mb Radeon 7500 or a 32MB option. But it sounds like they've had trouble putting accurate information on the website product page.

since it just says mobility i'm not sure... until it says M8 (or was that M7?) i won't be sure.

I am waiting on my SmartStep 200N to arrive. I did a little research before buying and the video chip is M6 w/32 mb ram. As far as a desktop processor goes, they include a 12 cell battery instead of the standard 8 cell, so battery life is roughly the same as a P4m with an 8 cell. Dell has apparently solved many of the noise and thermal issues with this series of notebooks when using desktop chips. We'll see when I get mine. If anyone's interested, I'd be happy to post 3dmark, hdtach, etc scores once it arrives (in a couple of days).

The price is damn cheap, and it can supposedly play a full-length DVD on one charge, so I'm pretty hopeful!
