Yea, I noticed it after finding another post with a link to the promotional page. So just have to wait until after lunch to decide what to get :)

I need to buy a laptop for my son whom is going to college this fall.

Would you think this is as good as it gets or will better deals be coming at the end of the month?

Does anyone know if this coupon will be stackable with the -$200 instant savings or the $300 rebate on the Inspiron 9300's?

No. Once you add the $750 off $1499 coupon your other coupon(s) will be removed.

My point was not as to weather this deal worked but rather should I wait in hopes that a better one will occur at the close of the month.

Well...I think if anyone could answer THAT for you then we wouldn't be wasting our time on Anandtech but making bank on a TV show....

Because anyone who could answer that would be ABLE TO TELL THE FUTURE

(or is a DELL Employee) ;)

This deal is good, but it seems like the jacked the prices on some of the 9300 options and probably others. The DVD drive is now +$99 and the 6800 is now +199. Do they usuaally do this when a deal comes out?

None of us works for Dell Marketing and we cannot predict the future. However based on previous "end of quarter" sales they do release the BEST coupons around the 13-14th of the month which is TODAY.

If you can wait until October, then I would wait as a better $750 off $1499 might be released. That's when it happened last year. If you need a laptop before October then I would definitely BUY TODAY!

Which models are you considering? I think the 6000 and 700m offer the best bang for your buck.

Dell Inspiron 6000
Click Customize It for the third Inspiron 6000 from the left with price of $1,263
Select the following upgrades:
Warranty: 2Yr Ltd Warranty, 2Yr At-Home Service, and 2Yr Technical Support [add $60 or $2/month1]
Combo DVD/CD-RW drives: 8x CD/DVD burner (DVD+/-RW) with double-layer write capability [add $99 or $3/month1]
Additional Batteries: 9-cell Lithium Ion Battery Additional Battery (80 WHr) [add $129 or $4/month1]

$1,551.00 - $750 = $801 for a nicely loaded laptop with 2 year warranty, DVD Burner and two batteries!

Buy another 256MB RAM from NewEgg.com for $35 and you have a great all around laptop

Dell Inspiron 700m
Upgrades:
2Yr Ltd Warranty, 2Yr At-Home Service, and 2Yr Technical Support
8x CD/DVD burner (DVD+/-RW) with double-layer write capability
65 WHr 8-cell Lithium Ion Primary Battery

$1,526.00 - $750 = $776

I paid $757 for the exact same configuration, so it's only a $19 difference.

I dont mean to hijack your thread, but how often do they have Dell Small Business coupons for the Inspirons?

At least 2-3 times a month if not more but those are e-mailed directly to the customer. They're usually 10 - 35% off, they're rarely $750 off $1499 like this.

Sign up for the Dell SB mailing list and you will receive coupons via e-mail.

Go here and look for it

Sorry if you got up on the wrong side of the bed today. I don't think I was asking anyone to predict the future, was just relying on the accumulated knowledge that's here to base a guess on passed expeirnces. Thanks for your help.

Thanks RossMAN, that's the insight I was looking for.

I'm going to be sort-of bummed if I miss out on this deal. I need a lappy and found one that would work very well.
