New Dell Dimension says CPU too hot after writing GHOST image to HDD

eP?

Senior member
I just started this machine up today and installed the ghost image that was made on a new GX110. Thought it would work out okay, but now I get this message that says the CPU is too hot and windows shutsdown. Is this a problem with the image or the hardware on the machine? Everything looks good, i.e. all fans are work.

depends...

how hot is the CPU...

this is not really a problem, if the CPU does get too hot, windows SHOULD shut down (due to appropriate heat monitoring software having been installed)...

but chances are the cpu is not really THAT hot, so you should increased the tolerance of the proggie
