I bought a new PC as follows
AMD X4 840 3.2 GHz
GA-MA78LMT-S2 motherboard
2 by 4GB Adata ddr3 1333 RAM
No graphics card
Enermax 450W Tomahawk silent PSU

I get it home and it crashes in Windows a few minutes after running - gets a blue screen of death. A few minutes later it gets another BSOD. I look in the windows event viewer and see it had one of these before I even got it.

Take it back to the shop. They find a RAM test fails so change to Silicon memory RAM.

I get it home. Run windows. It crashes almost immediately with BSOD. Boot into safe mode, it crashes. Sometimes at start up it gives continuous long beeps which the manual says are "graphics card not installed properly".

Now it's on its way back to the shop again.

Is it possible my Dell monitor is damaging the PC or something like that?

Why can't they run it in front of you while you are at the shop?

Yep, I can do that this time but it must have ran long enough for them to install Windows 7 pro in the first place. When I took it back the first time I think they ran RAM tests for a while after changing the RAM but when I get it home it crashed within 60 seconds so I'm concerned that it's the monitor or AC socket that's the problem.

No. Have them print out the diagnosis they used to check the ram..it sounds like that wasn't the problem and since it's a new system it can be so many things including a faulty mobo. You mentioned your AC power..the most important thing on a pc is solid power source to the board zero fluctuations.

I've did windows 7 install with faulty ram and found out later the ram was bad, you need to reinstall the OS

It seems the problem was the board needed have the BIOS updated to work correctly with the X4 840. Anyway, I changed to the X4 955 CPU and an 880GM USB3 motherboard for not much extra money and now it's running great. I'm surprised they didn't check the BIOS revision/ CPU compatibility when they first built it.
