New custom Build Advice... Video Card install

Asus P4C800-E Deluxe
2.4 P4 800-mhz
Maxtor Diamondmax Plus 8 40 GB ATA/133 HD (which I'm not quite familiar with ATA/133)
PowerColor XR97-C3L ATI R9700 128MB DDR 8X AGP Video Card

Can I just pop this bad boy in and hope it loads up or should I try to install my old geforce 2 mx400 and then install the 9700?

This is a fresh build and ill be putting windows XP on it.

One more question. Is there a huge difference between 9700 and 9700 pro?

this is asking for trouble. install everything put in the driver cd, install the drivers. or if you got an active internet connection, just download cat 3.6 drivers and install them. DO NOT INSTALL NVIDIA DISPLAY DRIVERS

there isnt a huge difference between 9700 and 9700 pro, just clock speeds. overall, the 9700 is a better buy than the 9700 pro

Put in the 9700. If you put in the nvidia card you're going to open up a can of worms due to the driver problems.

thank ya much. I built these two comps i have now over 3 years ago...i think. It seems like a whole new world with ata 133 and the new processor intel has that looks like an amd. hehe anyway thx for the advice.
