New CS and HL patches

Basically they have supposedly been done since early this week, but not released due to the WTC tragedy. If anyone is interested though, go for it, and if you want to go back just reinstall the old CS and HL patches straight over the top, worked for me.

this is not the same patch that will be released on wednesday. If you want to dl it to play w/ it sure - but the wednesday patch will be different.

Im glad the Sierra rep was here to set us straight, guess its impossible to believe that people would complete a patch for a game about terrorism but delay it due to a small incident involving a few terrorists. Maybe it will be different, but whose to say that for sure. My source claims its final anways for what its worth.

And you know this because? CS1.3 has been finished for some time now, they just havent been releasing it because Valve wont release the 1108 patch, that's the official word from cliffe.

Rumor has it a sierra rep let the info out in some IRC channel, sounds sketchy i know, but if you install the patch for HL it looks and acts real enough.

I just played it

First person spec mode is not in it (this was JUST added)

as well, bunnyhopping still works - although its not the same - it does - and I played a actual valve beta version of the patch and it was not like this.

Sorry but mark my words you will see a different version on wednesday.

So you're saying the HL 1108 patch is not real, but CS1.3 is?

i just installed both patch and update. I go into the Net Games, hit refresh, and doesn't list any server. It's not recognizing anything at all. =( now i have to install everythink back!!!!!!!!!?

Well that was before I actually tried to use it, it doesnt recognize the patch version, I dont think you can play with those 2 higher patches on servers running older ones...guess even if they are real you have to wait for servers to install them.....

I handed it out to a few people and we all played it - its definatly not the real thing. Both me and one other person I know play tested a geniune valve released patch - w/ valve non the less.

So I can verify this isnt real. I didnt play the CS patch, I dont know if thats real or not. The one above is not the same as what you'll see on Wednesday.

Just an FYI, this happens EVERYTIME a patch comes out - somebody shares a very very early beta which has leaked somehow.
