There are only a few actual chip manufacturers. I do not believe that Crucial is a chip manufacturer. They are a board assembly and packaging house. If I am wrong about this, I stand corrected.
Crucial uses Micron chips unless Micron doesn't produce the specific chips needed. Micron is the parent company of Crucial. I got a stick of Crucial PC2100 with Infineon chips back when Micron wasn't producing PC2100 chips dense enough for 512 MB sticks
