I had this huge 9800 GX2 fiasco and had to sell it "I was not happy with with the performance factor".

Now, i have an opportunity to buy a pair of used 8800 GTX 768MB for around $600 or get a single new 3870 X2 "$400" to crossfire with my present card. If i get the pair of GTX i can sell my present 3870 x2 for around $350.

So, total costs-
$600 for GTX*2 or
$750 for 3870 X2*2

BTW, will i get a performance impact with two GTX over GX2 and 3870 x2 in CRYSIS??

What is a 512MB 8800GTX?, I thought they were 768MB.

You can get them new for $289AR

4x 3870 does not scale, you are lucky to get 3x 3870 performance and, even then, it does not even compare to a pair of 8800 GTS (512)

In Anandtech's review it looks like it scales ok with 2 X2 cards. But that is at a really high resolution.

But he is going to be really bottlenecked with his 4800+ anyway which ever way he goes.
