What slot 1 cpu can be used with ABIT BH-6 ver 1.0 mb? CAn I use Pentium III or am I limited to Pentium II and Celerons. What is fastest Celeron I can use.
you do have the option of getting a slotket (slocket) and using an fc-pga chip. i also have an abit bh6 1.0 and i'm running a Celeron II 600Mhz at 900Mhz (2.08V) with an IWill slocket. The Celeron 600 is coppermine..so you should be able to use PIII coppermines fine too...
You can run any P3 coppermine including the 1Ghz if you want. Either use a Slot 1 (if you can find one) or as cyrkkle said get a Slotket adapter and use a FC-PPGA chip. Make sure you flash to the "SS" BIOS or later though...
I would stick to the 100FSB pentium3s so you wont run the risk of ocing your PCI and AGP buss. It could cause you problems with your pci and video hardware. You can get P3 1ghz chips in the 100fsb format but are hard to find. 800s are easier to find and will prob let you overclock a bit.
I have a P3-750 mildly OC'd to 775 in my Rev. 1.02 BH6. It's on a generic slocket and uses the retail heatsink/fan. Make sure to flash the SS bios BEFORE you put in the new CPU.
