my girlfriend is using a compaq presario 5000
old, i know, but i lack the funds to build her a new rig
currently it has a skt370 666mhz Celeron
geeks.com has some P3's for $15, one of which is 933mhz
im wonder if that cpu will work in this computer, as the skt370 celeron's on ebay go for $35+
any help at all would be great

Do you know if the RAM is PC66 or PC100? If so, a 133 FSB processor could be a problem.

You might find a 100 FSB celeron (800 - 900 MHz) or 100 FSB P3 cheap in the FS/FT forums here. Just be careful not to get a Tualatin celeron (1.0A, 1.1 - 1.3 GHz) since they won't run unmodded in most older socket370 motherboards.
