Any word as to when we can expect this 742 on the market? I'd love to get my hands on one...

Would this work on a K6-III+?

We also need to find out what motherboards it will fit on. For example, the popular Abit KT7 has stuff sticking up very close to the CPU socket.

Update: I heard over at AMDZone that the Taisol 734 Does fit the SS7 CPU's. The clip for the 742 might have some trouble though, not to mention the size of this sucker and the problems with motherboards..

Either way, we don't know when this BBDVoodoo is going to be on sale.

Why do you keep referring to that HS as "big bad voodoo daddy"

I assume you're trying to coin a term for that fan. hehe

EDIT - Ahhh, apparently TaiSol gave it that name. Hehe. Cool

Why does the subject say "Loser=Globalwin FOP-38"??? When in the article it says that the Globalwin kicks all their asses.

Peace,
Nore

the fop beats the other two taisol fans - the cek733 and cek734. the new cgk42 beats both the other taisol hs/fans as well as the global win. check out the first link and pay attention to the names of the coolers.

Rudee,
They have no part # for the BBVDaddy yet. Anyway, it's easier remembering a name than trying to remember a number.
NoreCNN,
The BBVdaddy is the same heat sink used in the test as the 742, except that it has a much bigger fan. The little fan alone beat the fop-38 w/ the big fan.

Well, I'm now running my 1Ghz T-bird at 1.2Ghz thanks to the TaiSol. Most importantly, my case is very quiet.

That new Big Voodoo Daddy, with that larger fan is no doubt going to be much louder. Most likely identical to the Delta fan's on the Alpha coolers.
