hey everyone, i just assembled my new c2d system, but it refuses to post or turn on.

I have the following:

Gigabyte DS3
Core 2 duo e6300
2gb Patriot 5300
Nvidia 7800gt.

When i turn of the switch on the powersupply and turn it back on i can hear quick "beep" sound. I've made sure that the led switches are in the right are. I've also inserted the ram on different slots. I have checked the cpu pins on the motherboard, and none are bent...

No matter what, the computer refuses to turn on. could this mean it doesnt like my ram? i read the user reviews of my ram on newegg, and some stated it worked with this DS3 motherboard..

try using ddr2 ram which has 1.8 as voltage.
Before that reset the cmos by removing and reinserting the battery. And if ur board is inside a case check whether any part of the board is coming in contact with the mettalic part of the case.Make sure that it doesn't come in contact.
If any of this doesn't work get 1.8v ram and update to the latest bios.

Its PSU related.

I had two PSU(s) over 2 yrs. do the same thing. Right before they go bad they do this when the system has been introduced too a higher wattage need.

Nope. Power switch is not the same as P LED. Led = Light emitting diode. That is where you should connect the power "light" of the case to.
