So, some weird noises are coming from my video card. my guess is the fan is giving out. I see the zalman vf700 cu had a lot of good reviews, can anyone contradict this? or is it going to be a good buy?

I've got a similar problem except my 7900GT cooler is too loud to suit me.
I'm pondering the Zalman, but I don't know if the VF900 is worth the $11 over the VF700 (both being the copper version).
I, too, have heard good things about these coolers.
I assume they'll not be quite as noisey as the stock cooler.

I don't think the vf700 would cut it necessarily. vf900 or vf1000 seems like a better option.

I have a vf900 on my 8800GT and can't say enough good things. I was using a vf700 AlCu before switching to the 900, and definitely think the step up was worth the money.

How about putting another fan into it? The stock HSF isn't too bad. It will need either an 80mm or 92mm fan. Just get one of choice and cut the outer cage off, then use double sided tape to mount.
