Hey guys,

Does anybody know when the next line of motherboards are coming out that support Conroe?
Also, I know that both the 965 and 975 support Conroe but are they going to be making any more 975 boards or are they just going to be coming out with the 965s?

Thanks

965 is the newer chipset, so they will definitely continue making those. In the next few weeks motherboards with the newest ati and nvidia chipsets will be coming.

I recently asked the same question and got this response:

The shipping dates we are seeing currently on a lot of new product (Conroe Boards) is in early August which translates to late August arrival here in the states (average timeline). I stated this several times but my biggest fear in the Intel launch was not CPUs but motherboards. It will be at least a month or so before the ATI chipsets are out and until ECS/MSI/Abit start shipping their 975x boards the prices will remain high. DFI was surprised by the sell out of their board so quickly, waiting on an answer when more will be available.

Hope that helps.

So are the DFI Conroe Lanparties going to be around closer to Thanksgiving/Christmas?

Could be, but I'm going with Abit for my C2D. Just waiting on the AW9D-Max.

Lets assume that DFI gets them launched in September (590 mobos). Figure the first month not many actually seen and the few that are are quickly sold out. Sometime in October (a month after launch) supply starts to catch up. So... Oct/Nov before sufficient supply? DFI has been pretty quiet about their whole product lineup for Conroe IMO so I'm thinking they been quietly hard at work getting some good mobos designed and built. Time will tell.

Any news whether or not it will have a passive chipset heatsink? Or are they sticking to the small chipset fan and heatsink?

Nvidia chipsets have not been great for the Intel platform in the past since it's still fairly new. What's the outlook on the 590 series for Intel so far?

Not sure but doesnt the new Infinity Conroe mobo have passive cooling instead of chipset fan and heatpipe? Have to check on that but I thought I heard it does.
