I got a new compy, here are the spec's:

AMD 3500 2.4MHZ
DFI LanParty Mobo
7800GTX 256mb GFX card by XFX <--- Suspected Prob.
2G Patriot Ram
2 74GB Raptors

Here's the problem:

When playing a game, a very high pitch sound blasts over my speakers and my computer freezes, and screen goes black a few seconds later.

When playing WoW, I can go for 1-2 hours then freeze.
HL2- >30 Min and freeze
Gary's Mod- >30 Min and freeze

I ran Prime95 and it ran well, and I think it is the GFX card. Please send advice =(

I tried updating drivers as well, fan speeds are all on max.

If you think it is heat, then open up the case, blow a fan onto the board, and see if the same thing happens.

Well, you could always underclock your graphics card and see if that helps (by not producing as much heat) or you could set an extra case fan so that it blows on your card for testing purposes.

Ottothecow- how do I do that?
Montag451- I tried and it made it not go out as fast

P.S. My card came pre-clocked soooo....I wanna learn to underclock.

I've never UC/OC'd anything before.

If you think it had an effect, then you have to figure out how to cool down the system, and uc the vid card - post on video forum for better ideas on your vid card, and post on cases and cooling forum if the vid card thing doesn't work out.

I sound like a 'press 1 for video, press 2 for cooling, press 3 to hear the menu again'.
