Hi,

I'm planning on upgrading / building myself a new computer, but I'm curious regarding AMD and their FX series. Will there be new CPU's from AMD with the FX series or should I go for Intel?

Planning on upgrading in Q1 2015.

Thanks in Advance

I don't think there will be an update to the FX for a long while. What processors are you looking at and what do you plan to use the system for?

Yeah I was afraid of that, mostly gaming so it's gonna be a high end PC.
4 years since I upgraded now so it's about time. :)

What resolution are you planning to game at? 1080p? 1440p? 4k?

What about refresh rate? 60 Hz monitor? 120 Hz monitor?

Okay, thank you! Now I just need to figure out what GPU I should go for or wait for next gen from AMD. Got Asus ARES in my current computer.

The R290X cards offer quite a good performance per dollar these days. If you can nab one for $299 or so, then that'd be a great deal and should give you plenty of performance for years to come if you're on a 1080p display.

At a higher resolution you may want two.
