I put together a new computer and the power turns on and the fans from the power supply and cpu fan spin but there is no signal being detected by the monitor. I tried putting in a different video card and that one didn't work either. Power seems to be working fine as the dvd drive will open and close and the sound card light on the motherboard lights up. I tried using one stick of ram instead of two and nothing changes. I also left it running for about ten minutes and the cpu cooling fan doesn't seem to be getting warm. I also reset the cmos and that had no effect. I tried taking out the sound card and that had no effect too. Here are the computer specs:

Gigabyte 945GZM-S2 Motherboard
Intel E4300 processor with stock fan
2gb pc2-5300 ddr2 ram
xfx geforce 7600gs video card
maxtor 200gb sata hard drive
sound blaster x-fi xtreme gamer sound card
Ultra 500W power supply

Any help would be great.
Thanks!

You say your CPU cooling fan isn't getting warm? Does the CPU heatsink get somewhat warm at all - especially closest to the CPU? Your CPU might not be mounted properly? Just a guess.

Any beeps?

Standard troubleshooting:

Is the ATX12V CPU cable plugged in? I now I've missed that one on occasion...

Remove and re-seat the RAM, Video Card and CPU to make sure everything is plugged correctly. Is the PCI-E cable plugged into the Video Card (in case it needs one).

Case Standoffs might be shorting the motherboard...try making sure you got the right ones screwed in. You might also want to try to remove everything but the CPU, RAM and Video Card and see if it will then POST.

If that fails remove the mobo from the case, and then place it on top of the anti-static bag ( or the mobo's cardboard box) it came in, and try to power it up with just the CPU, RAM and Video Card to make sure the mobo ain't being shorted somewhere.

If it still won't post...you might have DOA parts and it's time to RMA.
