New Computer Won't Post

I have a little problem...

I recently purchased a Syntax ISO-9002 motherboard which comes with an integrated 1.3g VIA cpu..
I also purchased an ATX case with a 350w power supply and 256mb spektech 2100 RAM

at first I put in a sitck of 256 crucial ram that a friend let me borrow, it would not post, today I purchased my own stick and it still didn't work.
I turn on the power switch on the power supply, I plug the PC in, I can hear electricity flowing through the power supply, then I hit the power switch on the computer case to start up the PC, the CPU fan starts spinning along with the power supply fan but after few seconds they both stop, any ideas?

Could possible be a short. Make sure your motherboard isn't grounding on the case. Take out all cards except video. Unplug the floppy drive too.
You want to try and and elimate everything but the basic first.
