So I hooked this up last night (my first build) but when i go to plug it in and start it, nothing happens. sometimes the power led flickers for a half second but that was it. Last time I had an issue like that the mobo was bad. Try putting it on top of a cardboard box with just cpu, mem and video card and see if it will start up.

Try disconnecting everything that isn't necessary. You'll need the following connected:

24 or 20+4 pin ATX power supply connector
ATX 12v power supply connector
The CPU and heatsink/fan.
One stick of memory
A video card
the front LED & power connectors

Nothing else! You wouldn't believe some of the wacky problems you can cause by improper connections. Once, for example, I plugged in my USB headers backwards, and it kept my PSU from operating until I corrected them!

The wires where I connect the case to the motherboard were backwards. A quick turn around and the computer came up fine! Thanks for the help guys.
