New Computer troubles / Fried Motherboard?

Hey All,

Got them building new computer blues. I'm about to take the motherboard and cpu back but before I do I just wanted to ask you guys for advice.

The computer posted yesterday. I took the cpu back today because it was 1.1 and I really wanted 1.2 and exchanged it. I secured the motherboard into the case (I'd made sure it posted before I put it in) and tried to turn it on. Power came on, fans came on, lights and all that but no posting.

So I took everything out of the case again. Nothing. So I took out everything, cpu, memory and graphics card and tried again and it didn't even beep at me which is should with no memory in it.

From this I concluded that somehow I had fried my motherboard. Not sure how. But if you guys have some alternate things for me to try please let me know.

Make sure the cpu is fully seated. Also, when you changed the cpu you might have accidentally loosened a cable, so check all connections.

Not sure which cables to check. Like I said I pulled everything out of the motherboard. The power cables were of course connected and it did get power.

I've packaged it and the cpu up. It's only 2 days old. I'm going to take it back and ask them to test both and if the CPU is ok then great. If not I'll get a new one but I suspect the motherboard this time.
