New computer stuck in startup

I have an ASRock 939 Dual motherboard and an AMD athlon 64 3700+ and 2 x 512 Corsair Value Select Ram. Also, some old video card. It is brand new and I just built it today. When I turn it on, the black startup screen appears, and the Processor name comes up fine, and it says 1024 mb ram Okay, and then it freezes. Is this problem likely caused by my motherboard? I have unplugged all drives. Does this board have to be RMA'ed? Could it be the processor? I'm new to anandtech, and thanks a lot for your help.

Have you tried going into the bios and setting it up? Or at least clear the CMOS in the mobo? If you already did this and it still freezes after the ram check, try one ram stick at a time first. it could be a bad ram.
